District Governor Nominee Designate
Our District Governor for 2022-23 will be Sandhya Maini of the Rotary Club of  Burlington North.
Sandhya is a member of Rotary Burlington North and has been a Rotarian since 2009.  She has been actively involved with her club serving as President in the 2016-17 year, has chaired a number of committees, including the Membership committee and Fundraising committee, and has served as a member of the International Services and Foundation committees and as her club’s Learning Coordinator.
Sandhya joined the D7080 training committee shortly after joining Rotary, is currently Director of Training for D7080, and will serve as District Governor of D7080 in the 2022-23 Rotary year.  She administered the Rotary Leadership Institute for the District and is both a graduate and facilitator with the program.  She is also a facilitator for D7080’s visioning program and has helped numerous clubs develop their vision and strategic plan.
In addition to her active involvement at the Club and District level, she was involved at the International level as Registrar and Logistics Chair for the 2014 Zone 24/32 Institute in Toronto, a training forum for incoming District leaders and Past District Governors.  She was also a part of a five-person panel that presented a breakout session on ‘The Journey from District Trainer to Director of Training’ at the Toronto Rotary International Convention in 2018.
Sandhya is a multiple Paul Harris recipient, a Sustaining Member of The Rotary Foundation and a Bequest Society member.  She is especially passionate about projects, both local and international, that seek to improve education and literacy.
Professionally, Sandhya works for Sun Life in Human Resources (HR) where she is responsible for planning and delivering the company’s global HR technology initiatives.  She is fortunate to be able to apply her skills of project delivery, relationship management, change enablement and process improvement to the organization of Rotary events and in her Rotary leadership roles.
Sandhya recharges and renews by concocting feasts in her kitchen and hopes to pursue Level II of the Wine & Spirit Education Trust program in the near future to further develop her wine knowledge.
