Join our United Nations Representative, PDG Doug Vincent for Rotary Day at the United Nations November 2, 2013 in New York City. Those joining him will also have the opportunity to meet the Canadian UN Ambassador during a visit to the Canadian Mission on Friday afternoon, November 1st.

The Saturday meeting is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at UN Headquarters and will include presentations and panel discussions addressing key humanitarian issues such as water, health, literacy, and hunger.

United Nations leaders/officials, representatives from key nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), and Rotary International leaders will all address the group. There also will be a separate youth program for high-school age students. NOTE: Tours are not available on Saturday, so those interested in this should do so on Friday.

Registration for Saturday meeting is at www.riunday.org at a nominalcost whichincludes a box lunch.
For the Canadian Mission visit, you must register via email with Doug providing full name/address.  Note for security check reasons, this must be done by October 15th.

Accommodation is expensive in NYC. There are more economical hotels across the river about 30 minute bus ride away.  Doug stays at the Comfort Inn, Crescent St, Long Island, NY.  Or stay at the Quality Inn, Lyndhurst, NJ.  Save over $100. per night at these hotels vs Manhattan.

RC Mississauga is coordinating a bus to this event.  For details contact Julie Grabb juliegrabb@hotmail.com  or refer to schedule at link on left side of this page.

Plan to join Doug at the United Nations for this exciting experience to learn and celebrate Rotary's history of helping start the UN back in 1945.  Rotarians, family members and friends are all welcome.
