Promoting Safety ,Healing and Hope
The Rotary Club of Oakville and District 7080 have come together to donate $1,000 to Halton Women's Place. This contribution, split equally with $500 from each group, is aimed at supporting the shelter’s crucial services for women and children fleeing domestic violence. Halton Women's Place offers a safe haven and essential resources, such as emergency housing, counseling, and legal support. The grant will help ensure these services remain available and effective for those in need.
The reason for the donation to Halton Women's Place is the participation of students from the Iroquois Ridge High School (IRHS) Interact Club, which is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Oakville West, in the District 7080 "Grant Writing Initiative." This activity involved students attending a District Zoom meeting to learn about grant writing, selecting and researching a local charity, and completing a detailed grant application in support of Halton Women's Place. Adjudicators from the District evaluated the application and approved the grant.
This donation highlights the Rotary Club's commitment to community welfare and its ongoing efforts to support local organizations that make a significant impact. By providing this funding, the Rotary Club of Oakville and District 7080 are playing a vital role in promoting safety, healing, and hope for vulnerable individuals in the community.
