7080 Rotarians Heading to Scotland on the Rotary Curling Tour

Eight Rotarians for 7080 will be getting a taste of Rotary in Scotland all through the month of November as part of the 2014 Canada to Scotland Rotary Curling Tour Team. 22 Rotarians from across Ontario and Quebec who will be visiting 12 different locations across Scotland this year. While in Scotland the team members will be staying with and curling against local Rotarians in each area.
Canadian and Scottish Rotarians meet and compete for the Transatlantic Rotary Curling “Quaich” every 2 years – alternating play between Canada and Scotland. The first tour took place way back in 1956 – and has been going strong ever since. The scores of all the games played at a dozen different curling rinks over the month are added together to determine the winner that year. The 2014 team from Canada will be out for revenge after the touring Scot’s won the Quaich while touring Quebec and Ontario in 2012.
Curlers from 7080 are Graham Hart and Richard Holmes from Woodstock, Clarence Haverson and Barbara Fisk from Guelph Trillium, Joe Hudson and Karel Sury from Burlington, Jack Kinch from Kitchener Westmount , and Norm Litchfield from Fergus-Elora.
