Canada has announced $151 million in funding to support global polio eradication efforts, following a recent outbreak in the Gaza Strip. The funds, announced at a Rotary International conference in Toronto, will back the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, which provides vaccines to vulnerable populations, including over half a million children in Gaza. Canada has spent over $1 billion on polio eradication in the past 24 years, with polio cases dropping by 99% since 1988.
