Outreach Program by Acton Rotary

On January 26, 2025, a heartwarming "Back to School" outreach program was successfully conducted on Kinatarcan Island, Sta Fe, Bantayan, Cebu.

This collaborative effort was spearheaded by the JMR Foundation, led by the dynamic duo of Lourdes Labasan Jones and Steven Jones.
The event brought together a diverse group of partners and sponsors, each contributing significantly to its success. The Back to School Foundation, represented by PDG John Van Laar and Rtn. Cora Van Laar, extended their generous support. The Rotary Club of Collingwood South Georgian Bay, under the leadership of President Penny Towndrow, and the Rotary Club of Action, led by President Steven and Co-President Lourdes Jones, actively participated. The Rotaract Club of Metro Cebu and its CIT Chapter also played crucial roles in ensuring the smooth execution of the program. The JMR Foundation's generous donors, Neville Jones, Celeste Faraon and Family, and Ar. Mark Janreich Malvaroza and Family, further enriched this meaningful initiative.

The outreach program primarily focused on providing essential school supplies to the island's youth. A total of 20 scholar students were directly supported, while the program extended its benefits to nearly 100 beneficiaries, including students not part of the scholarship program and their parents. This comprehensive approach aimed to address the educational needs of the entire community.

The event was a resounding success, leaving a lasting positive impact on the lives of the Kinatarcan Island community. The collaborative spirit demonstrated by all partners and sponsors exemplifies the power of collective action in making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
