Rotary Club of Bolton's Long Standing Community Tradition

Bolton Rotary has a long history with a traditional Haunted Hill run. We began running around the streets of Bolton and through the cemetery.  This took a lot of permits and frustrating red tape to ensure runner safety so we moved it to our north hill location and currently start at the Caledon Centre for Recreation and Wellness.

We offer a 1 km Fun Run for the kids and young at heart and a more intensive 5 km run/walk along one sidestreet and into Bolton Camp, along the Murray Stewart Trail.  Murray is a long-standing member (over 50 years) of our club and we were thrilled to honor him with the naming of the trail.  Participants dress in costume and join in the spooky fun of the decorations, prizes, food and sometimes the weather!

Always looking for new ideas, this year we solicited teams from local schools with a donation to the school for participation and a scavenger hunt to keep the little ones busy while waiting for parents to finish the race.  We gather volunteers from the local school to reciprocate for our sponsorship of their robotics team and community service hour seekers.  It's a great community activity and brings families out year after year to join in the fun.

This year it was free to participate as we make all proceeds from generous sponsorship.  Over 300 joined in the fun, spooky decorations, costumes, food, prizes, scavenger hunt. Thank you to our VOLUNTEERS AND SPONSORS...Jim and Orma MAW, Albion Heating & AC, Bolton Park Dentistry, Blackmere Brothers, Circle Group Construction, Kostynyk Denturist, Nobleton Veterinary Clinic, Rafat, Sardo Foods, Sunlife, Surteco NA. All net proceeds will go to youth programs in Caledon.
