The Annual Brampton Cluster Event
The Brampton Clubs held their annual Cowboy Casserole luncheon on Monday ,23rd September .Led by Bob Kaye of Heart Lake Rotary, the team put on a fabulous event which was attended by 170 people.
The attendees were spell bound by the energetic speaker, Orlando Bowen.
He captivated the audience with his heartfelt life tales. A former professional football player and now high-performance coach, for the past fifteen years Bowen has used storytelling, fitness activities, and cognitive exercises to teach resilience, leadership, and teamwork to over 300,000 people. Empowering others to overcome adversity, to find their passion, and to use their gifts is Bowen’s lifelong goal. This mission has placed him on hundreds of stages and boardrooms throughout North America, while also garnering him many distinguished awards. A Brampton native and former Rotarian we were so blessed to have him as our speaker and thank his friend,Dhaman Kissoon of Brampton Flower City Centennial, for inviting him.
Originally called the Poor Boys Luncheon, the meal is simple to demonstrate that so many cannot afford to eat well.
Our excellent MC for the event, Hema Sukhu of Heart Lake Rotary club, along with the competent event organiser, Bob Kaye, surprised Orlando with $5,000 for his charity, One Voice One Team, which builds leadership skills in youth to empower them. The Rotary Club of Brampton Heart Lake were able to do this because their members regularly volunteer at Delta Bingo.
