Here is a wonderful travel opportunity for Rotarians interested in International Service, or just interested in travel.

A couple of years ago, all 3 Oakville Rotary clubs joined together to do a Global Grant for the EEE School for the Deaf in San Miguel, Mexico. It was a very successful project and we have arranged a trip to see it and experience the beautiful, historic city of San Miguel. This is a wonderful opportunity to visit the school to see how our dollars were spent, see the historic city of San Miguel (a haven for artists), and be hosted by local Rotarians. The best thing is that we will be there for the Day of Dead celebrations. This will be a once in a lifetime experience! Last year the Cupertino Rotary club went, and had a wonderful time. The local Rotarians dressed them up in costumes before they marched in the Day of the Dead parade.

This tour is being organized by 2 Canadian Rotarians who spend their winters in San Miguel.  June Oliver is from Oakville-Trafalgar and John Doherty is from B.C.  Both June and John are willing to repeat the trip for District 7080 Rotarians. If you wish there are some other projects we could visit in the very poor towns surrounding San Miguel – projects to improve education and to prevent groundwater contamination. Currently 8 people have registered for this trip and we would like to increase the numbers. We are now extending the invitation to all District 7080 Rotarians. http://files.constantcontact.com/1765a9f5401/01d9ea71-581a-4f8c-9904-7ece042ba16d.jpg
