District 7080 Prepares for the Future

Club Proposals for 2013-14 District Grants Now Being Accepted

On Saturday November 24, 2012 representatives from all 50 District 7080 Clubs attended a Foundation Qualification Training seminar in Kitchener as a step in preparing our district for the new Rotary Foundation Grant Model. From the positive feedback received we appear to be on the right track to successfully transition from the old DSG Grant Model to the new District Grant model.

The qualification training was the first step.

Next every club that wishes to participate in either District or Global Grants will need to submit a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to be able to request any grant funds.

Once a club has filed their MOU then they may submit a “Club Project Proposals for District Grant Funds” form.

This form and the MOU are now available on the District Website.

1.     Just click the Rotary Foundation Button at the top of the District Website

2.     Then select Foundation Grants

3.     Then select 2013-2014 Rotary Year

4.     Then select Foundation Qualification and Grants 2013-2014

You will then have the MOU and the Club Project Proposals for District Grant Funds form available in the left hand column.

You can also access the same information from the site page “Foundation Qualification and Grants 2013-2014” on the right hand side of the District Website.

The amount of funds available for the 2013-14 District Grant is $77,740. The only district draw being made against this amount is $12,700 for a special initiative called “The Cash Panel”. This leaves $65,040 of District Grant Funds for Club Projects. Grant Monies to be used for Polio Plus, Peace Fellowships, Disaster relief and District Matches on Global Grants will come from other District Designated Funds.

Details on The CASH Panel will be announced at the December 6, 2012 Presidents Meeting. All Presidents are encouraged to register today!

As we transition to the new Foundation Grant Models we must not forget utilizing DSG and Matching Grant funds that are available to all District clubs this year. Application Forms are in the Download section of the District Website www.rotary7080.org. The accessibility to the current year’s form will be improved in the coming weeks.
