Grow Green with Rotary: Community Plant Swap!

In July, Rotary Passport South brought together nature enthusiasts of all ages for a vibrant Plant Swap at Coronation Park in Oakville, hosted at the Rotary-sponsored gazebo. The event invited attendees to trade plants, share gardening tips, and connect with fellow community members, while also highlighting Rotary’s growing commitment to environmental sustainability.

In partnership with Oakville Green, participants enjoyed a hands-on seedball-making activity. This creative and pollinator-friendly project added an educational element to the day and encouraged eco-friendly gardening practices.

The event also featured Oliver Haegg, Parks Technologist from the Town of Oakville, who shared exciting updates about local green spaces and upcoming park developments. He also spoke about ways the community can stay involved in preserving and enhancing Oakville’s natural environment.

More than just a plant exchange, the event promoted environmental awareness, encouraged sustainable living, and strengthened community connections. It was a meaningful example of how Rotary continues to make a positive impact in Oakville.
