Supporting Seniors' Community

The Rotary Club of Cambridge North (CNR) again contributed to the Fairview Senior’s Community Kindness Trees during December 2023. This contribution represents the fourth year that CNR has supported residents at Christmas. The Fairview website states they are: “…a not-for-profit, charitable, faith-based Continuum of Care.” The Fairview community is located at 515 Langs Drive in Cambridge. The website also states: “Fairview is both a home and a community where each person is valued, respected and welcomed. All cultures. All faiths. All financial means.” Since Fairview is inclusive, CNR is keen to support their efforts. More information is available about the Fairview Seniors Community at: https://fairviewmh.com.

In keeping with tradition, CNR Rotarian Fred Schiedel led the efforts to purchase gifts in response to 19 tags on the Kindness Trees. These tags identify needs of individual residents. So, to help keep all things warm and fuzzy at Fairview, Rotarian Fred and his partner Charlene Schiedel purchased 12 pairs of pyjamas and 7 sweaters requested by residents. This activity was similar to 2020, 2021, and 2022, when Rotarian Fred and Charlene similarly purchased pyjamas, winter hats, and sweaters in response to tags on Kindness Trees. All of these items during the last four years have come from Mark’s Work Warehouse. Thanks to Mark's for providing discounts and assisting CNR in its support of the Fairview Seniors Community Kindness Trees program.
