Local Rotaractor Selected for Prestigious Global Leadership Program

The newly renamed (and growing fast!) Volunteers In Action (CW) Rotary Club would like to share that Nathalie Alaves, one of our Rotaract members, is truly a future changemaker and a perfect example of what a good Rotarian looks like! 

 

Nathalie was recently selected and attended (as part of the Canadian delegation) the Ship for World Youth 2026! The SWY is a global leadership program that serves as a cross cultural exchange providing participants with opportunities to enhance their skills, deepen mutual understanding, broaden global perspectives, and strengthen their spirit of international cooperation. The program is organized and funded by the Government of Japan who invite 12 countries annually, to send a delegation of 8 youth to represent their home and to enjoy unique and exciting learning sessions on board. To see that one our own youth was selected to represent Canada in such a prestigious space, makes us very proud indeed. 

 

Nathalie is a true inspiration to us all and we were thrilled to honour her with this quarter's Community Hero Award.
