The Group Study Exchange Committee is excited to announce that Rotarian Mari-Anne Tate has been selected to be the GSE Team Leader of the District 7080 Team to District 4640 in the State Parana, Brazil from May 8th to June 11th 2013.

Rotarian Mari-Anne has been a member of the Rotary Club of Caledon West as well as the Rotary Club of Brampton for seven years.

A Guidance Counsellor and a teacher of Career Studies, her Rotary service has included being Vice Chair of Europe – Youth Exchange Committee as well as Area Co-Ordinator – Youth Exchange Committee and an Interact Supervisor at the Central Peel Secondary School. She has also chaperoned the Cross Canada trip for Rotary Youth Exchange Students and been a Host Parent for Rotary Exchange Students. Mari-Anne reads, writes and speaks Portuguese, is fluent in French and speaks basic German. Mari-Anne’s involvement with Rotary began when she was selected to be a Rotary Exchange Student to Sao Paulo, Brazil in 1976 and continued when one of her two sons was selected as a Rotary Exchange Student. Mari-Anne accepted the invitation of PDG Norm Bindon to become a Rotarian with the Rotary Club of Brampton completing the circle started many years before.

Mari-Anne has the full support of the District GSE Committee and the complete endorsement of District Governor Ian Ferguson.
