February is Rotary’s Peace and Conflict Resolution month. On behalf of the District Peace Committee, I am pleased to announce that Sam Murray has been chosen as a Rotary International Peace Fellow applicant. She will be attending the Peace Centre in Queensland, Australia in 2025. Sam is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Cambridge Preston Hespeler.
Sam Murray is a seasoned fundraiser, with over 8 years of experience raising funds for human-rights based causes, with organizations focused on gender equality, extreme poverty, access to clean drinking water for Indigenous communities and solutions for climate change. She's worked with Rotary consistently throughout these past 8 years and has helped raise over $500,000 through individual clubs and Global Grants. Holding a degree in History and Human Rights from Carleton University, she is excited to continue working in the human rights space, hopefully growing into a leader to protect and promote peace around the world through the Rotary Peace Fellowship at the University of Queensland in 2025.
