Brampton City Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony
The Victorian style architecture of Brampton downtown core is a reminder of the rich heritage of this city. In the grounds of city hall, in Ken Whillans Square stands a majestic spruce (Christmas) tree. This tree comes to life with over 10,000 lights during the annual winter light festival. This magnificent tree was selected in 2001 by The RC of Brampton South as a focal point for the Annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony for the residents of the city of Brampton to enjoy.
There are magical light displays and over 145,000 sparkling LED lights, transforming the park into a winter wonderland. People wander through Gage Park for the ultimate holiday light experience. This year, the annual kick-off of the holiday season with the Winter Lights Festival in Downtown Brampton took place on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
The annual tradition continued to light the way for Santa’s arrival. A 60-foot spruce tree, decorated with over 10,000 lights came to life in Ken Whillans Square as Mayor Patrick Brown and members of Council did a countdown.
In Addition to winter lights displays, the event featured amusement rides, food vendors, and fun giveaways and activities for the whole family.
AG Fionna Ferguson represented The Rotary Brampton Cluster on the stage. She spoke about the contributions of Rotary to the Brampton community. Watch full message in video : Comb VIDEO-2023-11-22-18-00-55.mp4 .
