Youth Ambition and Meaningful Change

Youth ambition and desire to bring meaningful change is more present than ever with another Interact Club being championed in our District. Thanks to the Rotary Club of Mississauga-Meadowvale and the Rotaract Club of Mississauga for working together to sponsor a new community Interact club, allowing students from all high schools to join Interact. The conversation started when the current Interact president, Yassmina, attended Mississauga's Camp Enterprise where they first learned about Interact. Knowing their high school did not have an Interact club but wanting to start their Rotary journey, Yassmina worked with a core group of friends to find a way to start an Interact club in their community.

The establishment of this new Interact club marks the beginning of an inspiring journey for the young people involved and the communities they aim to serve. The incredible co-sponsorship of the Interact club by both a Rotary club and Rotaract club is the first of its kind in our District and leverages recent changes RI made to Rotaract clubs, allowing them to co-sponsor an Interact club. The Rotaract Club of Mississauga will be working very closely with this new, innovative club with their programming. Special thanks to the current Rotaract club president, Jananee Savuntharanathan, for taking on the mentor lead role for the Interactors and being a key champion for helping the Interact club get set up.
