On April 15th the district submitted a request to The Rotary Foundation (TRF) for a US$25,000 Disaster Response Grant to help our clubs with COVID-19 relief projects. We were advised soon after that available funds were exhausted and that our application would be kept on file. We were not optimistic, but we remained hopeful.

Recently we received notice that NEW funds were now available. Our application had been approved! We are now accepting applications for matching grants, using the same rules that we’ve established for District grants, the COVID-19 Grants and the District Funded Grants. (Please note: Unlike the previous COVID-19 Grants, these new funds cannot be used for expenses that trace back to the declaration of the pandemic. It is for expenses from July 24th forward.)

Funds within this Grant must be used for the following: COVID-19 support of food banks located within District 7080 that are in need of help due to the unprecedented demand for food and essential items. Please ensure that your project reflects this intent. We will be as flexible as TRF allows.

Please use the District Grant website to submit an application. The title of your application should start with DISASTER RESPONSE – COVID-19.  First come, first served. For fairness, only clubs that have NOT received a Matching Grant for 2020-2021 will be considered (this includes District Grants, District COVID-19 Grants and District Funded COVID-19 Grants). The minimum matching grant is US$1,500 (or CDN$2,055). The maximum matching grant is US$4,000 (CDN$5,480).

This is a great opportunity to help your community. Please apply if you are eligible!
