Economic and Community Development
Dear Fellow Rotarians and Rotaractors ,
As October begins, we enter a significant month in the Rotary calendar, focusing on Economic and Community Development. This is one of Rotary’s key areas of focus, where we empower individuals by creating economic opportunities, supporting entrepreneurship, and building resilient communities. I encourage each of you to explore how your clubs can contribute to economic development, whether through microfinance programs, vocational training, or community-based projects that lead to sustainable growth.
World Polio Day -October 24th
As World Polio Day approaches, I call on all of you to renew our commitment to ending this disease. Rotary has been at the forefront of the global effort to eradicate polio, and we are closer than ever to realizing a polio-free world.
Organize an event, raise awareness, or donate to End Polio Now—every action counts. Let’s come together as a district to mark this important day and reaffirm our collective dedication to making history by ending polio once and for all.
DISCON Feedback
I also want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the tremendous success of our District Conference (DISCON).
The discussions and sessions, particularly around Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Beyond (DEI), were enlightening and truly aligned with Rotary’s commitment to creating a more inclusive and equitable future. Your participation, engagement, and enthusiasm were key to making the conference a success.
To continue improving our district events, I invite you to share your feedback:
• What topics or sessions resonated with you the most? Your feedback is crucial in helping us craft even more impactful experiences in the future.
Please take a few minutes to provide your thoughts, as your voice will help shape the next steps in our district’s journey.
Thank you for your unwavering dedication to Rotary’s mission and for your continued efforts to make a difference.
Together, we are building stronger communities, driving economic development, and leading the charge in the fight against polio. Let’s make October a month of action, awareness, and impact!
