A Proud Moment for the Club
On June 12, 2023, Rotary Club of Brampton celebrated its 83rd Anniversary, marking a consistent and remarkable community service, locally and internationally.
Our guest-of-honor and guest speaker, The Hon. Premier Doug Ford FordNation, who highlighted aspects of the Province’s work around human and capital development, mentioned his active Rotary days, as well as his family’s ties to Rotary International.
As President, I highlighted activities from our recently concluded 2023 Rotary International Convention - Melbourne, Australia and our focus to eradicate polio from the world with our End Polio Now campaign. I presented the Premier with gifts, including our champions End Polio Now lapel pin!
Also in attendance were Mayor Patrick Brown, who presented us with a certificate, Minister Charmaine Williams, all Brampton MPPs, Councillor Rod Power, former Mayors Susan Fennell, Brenda Halloran (Rotary District 7080 Governor-elect) and Allan Thompson, Rotary District 7080 Governor Sandhya Maini, District Governor- nominee Designate Susanne Zbinden, staff from City of Brampton – Your Local Government, led by Economic Development Director Clare Barnett, captains of industries (University of Toronto, Algoma University, Sheridan, William Osler Health System Foundation, Erin Oaks Kids, Regeneration Outreach Community, Peel Crime Stoppers, Peel District School Board, etc), fellow Rotarians, family and friends.
It was a proud moment for our club, and for me too, as my year as President winds to an end. Thanks to our Director of Club Services, Bali Singh, the planning committee led by Dittie Voegele and the team at Carls Catering and The Glen, led by Bino Dali.
