The Rotary Club of Mississauga is proud to support the Centre for Grief and Healing (CGH), also known as Bereaved Families of Ontario Halton/Peel, through a grant that helped renovate and enhance one of the organization’s most important spaces.

As a result of Rotary’s financial and in-kind support, CGH’s therapy room has been officially renamed “The Rotary Therapy Room.” The renovation included the purchase of much-needed furniture and painting supplies, as well as the commissioning of a beautiful mural designed and painted by past participants of CGH programs. The mural warmly welcomes families and individuals as they enter the space, reinforcing a sense of hope, care and community.

Rotarians Lorraine Crow and Moya MacKinnon rolled up their sleeves to assist with the preparation and painting of the mural wall, working alongside CGH staff members Julia Duz, Executive Director, and Victoria Berry, Social Services Manager. Special thanks go to Kelly Price, Fundraising Manager, for her close collaboration with Rotary in organizing and bringing this meaningful project to life.

Based in Mississauga, CGH is a registered charitable organization providing compassionate grief support and education for adults, teens, and children coping with the loss of a loved one. Their services include individual support, peer-to-peer grief groups for specific types of loss, specialized groups for traumatic loss, and supports for equity-deserving communities. Last year alone, CGH served 690 people in Mississauga, helping to reduce isolation and foster healing after loss.

Rotary’s impact will continue. In February 2026, the Rotary Club of Mississauga will return to CGH to place a Rotary sticker on the refrigerator the club also purchased for the Healing Room another small but meaningful reminder of Rotary’s commitment to caring for the community.

This project reflects Rotary’s dedication to Service Above Self and its ongoing support of organizations making a real difference in the lives of Mississauga residents.
