Mrs. Philippines Global International
Rotary is proud that Dr. Grace Carbilledo-Vincent of Woodstock-Oxford Rotary, has just been announced as Mrs. Philippines Global International (2024) to compete at the Dubai World Pageant in September.
“I have to give Rotary credit for the personal growth and life experience which has led to this achievement,” said Dr. Grace. "I knew I had been nominated by my television producers and fashion colleagues, but did not believe I would have any chance since I now live in Canada," she said. “But I learned that your character, community service, talent and an interview are considerations and not just beauty. These are things that came from my Rotary membership.”
Dr. Grace joined Rotary in 1993 and says Rotary involvement has been a good investment of her time and energy, helping the less privileged while sharing friendship and fellowship with like-minded community leaders. “Rotary has greatly contributed to my personal growth and development as well as allowing me to travel to many places, helping serve others through humanitarian volunteer activities,” she said.
Dr Grace grew up in the Philippines and practised Dentistry in Cebu for several years. After winning ‘Super Mom of Cebu’, she hosted a radio talk show “The Doctor Is In” covering children and parenting topics. Following that, she co-hosted a Health, Wellness and Lifestyle television talk show and is a part-time actress on the CCTN-TV network. She has been involved in beauty pageants as an emcee and TV broadcast host, as well as a sponsoring dentist for contestants needing cosmetic dental services.
As Past President of the Banilad Metro Rotary Club in Cebu and Woodstock-Oxford Rotary in Canada, she volunteers her dental services for needy children. She often travels abroad with her husband PDG Doug Vincent, speaking and doing humanitarian activities, such as: Dental-Medical Mission trips, supporting Eye Clinics and Gift of Life heart surgeries in India and El Salvador, polio inoculations to children in India and Mexico, educational projects and monitoring Global Grants.
"Over the years, Dr. Grace has supported Philippine pageant activities both as a Dentist sponsor and pageant TV broadcaster," said Philippines Coordinator, Kenneth Yamas. "Her talent, positive spirit and work with Rotary are well known in the Philippines, so she was an obvious candidate for this prestigious honor."
