Woodstock-Oxford Rotary continues to share some Christmas Cheer with the homeless and less fortunate in their community.  In addition to their regular Saturday BBQ lunch and distribution of clothing and hygiene items, they have been busy with some special activities for Christmas.

Thanks to Ingersoll Rotarian and owner of Woodstock Giant Tiger, Bob Armstrong, they are sourcing several bags of donated groceries for distribution.  Bob came up with the idea of suggesting customers purchase a $5.00 bag of groceries for the less fortunate.  With additional donations by Giant Tiger, there is more than $5.00 value in each bag, which the Rotarians are distributing to those in need..
In addition, Woodstock-Oxford Rotary continues to subsidize these donated groceries and other items for those who are struggling.  They are hosting an outdoor ham luncheon on Saturday, December 19th and then a take-out turkey dinner on Christmas day, in association with local church volunteers.

Rotary’s continued community service will have members gathering a week prior to Christmas, to create Christmas gift bags so each person attending the dinner will receive a special greeting and Christmas gift.  Members are including a hand written greeting note of encouragement to go inside each bag.

At this time of year, it can be a sad time for those who are lonely or struggling.  In addition, the COVID-19 challenges are difficult to deal with and often a short conversation can be a huge additional gift.. It is great to see Rotary in Action, helping those who are having difficult times.

A great project that many will enjoy and appreciate, because Real Happiness is Helping Others..
