In Support of Shepherd's Cupboard Food Bank

For the past number of years, Shelburne Rotary has joined with the Shepherd's Cupboard Food Bank to provide a Senior's Market.

The idea behind the Senior's Market is that accessibility to the Food Bank isn't always easy for some, particularly seniors.

The Market, running from March to November (yes, March in Shelburne), delivers food to three locations in Shelburne. The service is provided the last Thursday of the month, with a specific time at each location.

Fresh vegetables and fruit are picked up by a Rotarian at a local farm.

Other necessities like milk, butter, eggs, cereal, bread, and meat and some treats are also provided. We set up a table outside the three locations and seniors (or others in the building that are in need), line up and request what they need.

New in April, we are adding a fourth location outside of town.

Shelburne Rotary is proud to support the dedicated volunteers of the Shepherd’s Cupboard under the leadership of Ardith Dunlop. In December, Shelburne Rotary recognized the over 20 years of Ardith's "Service Above Self" with a Paul Harris Award. The award was presented to Ardith by District Governor Brenda Halloran and Shelburne Rotary President Bill Waite.
