Northern Heat Rib Series in Waterloo

On an almost perfect weekend in August Rotary Waterloo hosted the Waterloo stop of the Northern Heat Rib Series.   This was the second year that Rotary Waterloo has hosted this event and it was bigger and better than the first.

Rim Park in Waterloo, was the new location for this year's event.  The new venue provided space for Ribbers, Drink Tents, Snacks of all kinds (even squid on a stick), and a Midway.  The residents of Waterloo were entertained by multiple bands over the weekend featuring music from Country to Rock to Blues.

With almost 6,000 people in attendance, Rotary Waterloo was able to raise funds for their Community Grant program and will be fully funded for the Fall 2024 Grants.  Our community grants program has supplied funds to so many organizations in our community. From our Autism Dog Service Organization to Lutherwood’s Children Mental Health Program. From Seeds of Diversity to Diabetes of Canada. These and many other organizations have been helped by this granting program.

We could not do this without the help of our Rotary Waterloo Members and friends who gave so much of their time over the weekend, to make this event so successful.

Overall, it was an amazing weekend and the RibFest Teams at Rotary Waterloo & Northern Heat are already working with the City of Waterloo to prepare for our Third Annual RibFest in 2025.
