In Collaboration with Trees For Guelph

On April 22nd Rotary Club of Guelph South members participated in a tree planting event at Guelph's Silvercreek Park. Our Past President, Martin Litchfield, who is also Vice President of Trees For Guelph and a lifelong forester, encouraged us to join this initiative. Inspired by Martin's dedication to forestry and the environment, we partnered with Trees For Guelph. This collaboration reflects our club’s commitment to Rotary's newest Area of Focus "Supporting the Environment."

After the completion of the tree planting event, Silvercreek Park's once treeless landscape was transformed into an area filled with trees. Between the 75 adult volunteers, as well as 120 students from John McCrae elementary school, more than 450 native trees and shrubs were planted!

This transformation is testament to our club’s unwavering commitment to being part of creating a positive impact on our local environment. Together, we are sowing the seeds of change and nurturing a greener future for generations to come.
