Hello to all Rotarians, Rotaractors and Interactors as we enter the final month in the Rotary year. June is Fellowship month and a time to look at the importance of friendships and relationships in Rotary. Fellowship is a word with an evolving definition. I think in our Rotary context, the most relevant meaning is “a society or group of people sharing mutual interests or activities” and a secondary meaning of “companionship or friendship”.
In January 2020, when I announced my presidential theme, Rotary Opens Opportunities, and spoke of the changes that Rotary needed to embrace, none of us had any idea how quickly change would arrive. But I am a longtime believer in seeing challenges as opportunities.
The 2021 Virtual Convention will be better than ever, opening more innovative opportunities to learn and to engage with the family of Rotary, near and far. You’ll be able to network in virtual lounges, meet new partners in service, and join fun activities with Rotarians from around the world. The event runs from June 12th to the 16th. Registration is just $65 US!
Thank you to all Rotarians, Rotary clubs in our district and Zone 28 and 32 and to community donors for an amazing response to the call for help, to help mitigate this unprecedented humanitarian tragedy in India. Thank you for joining together and responding to the call from the Rotary India action task force and in helping to make a difference and potentially save many lives.

Rotary Opens Opportunities - District Assistant Reflection
It has been an absolute pleasure and honor to serve as District 7080’s first District Assistant. As my term comes to an end, I would like to thank each and every Rotarian/Rotaractor/Interactor and friends of Rotary that I have been able to connect with. Many have been my mentors, many have inspired me, and many helped me make the decision to join a Rotary club.
Mother's Day Gift Baskets for Young Mom's in Guelph
Across Canada on May 9, mothers were being celebrated on Mother’s Day. Thanks to efforts by the Rotary Club of Guelph Trillium, ten young single mothers in Guelph were celebrated too.
The Rotary Club of Brampton Nominated for a Vitality Award
“Adversity has the effect of eliciting talents, which in prosperous circumstances would have lain dormant.” (Horace). The adversity of COVID19 has surely brought out the best of the Rotary Club of Brampton. In fact the Regeneration Outreach Community has just nominated the club for a "business group" vitality award through Volunteer MBC.
