Opioid Abuse Crisis – Esther Clark, Rotary Burlington Lakeshore
The opioid crisis is a complex health and social issue with devastating consequences for individuals, families and communities. Between January 2016 and March 2019, an estimated 12,800 Canadians died from an apparent opioid-related overdose, according to the Public Health Agency of Canada.
I would like to extend an invitation to any Clubs/Rotarians who are already discussing and/or doing projects in this area of need to get in touch with President Ute Lindner or myself to share. Rotary Burlington Lakeshore is just at the information gathering stage and we want to learn from others.
This is a crisis that can affect family, neighbours, work colleagues, young people as well as more advanced in age together with all levels of income. Thank you for your attention to this crisis.
