Club Visioning & Action Planning

Rotary District 7080’s Club Visioning & Action Planning is a process where individual Rotary Clubs identify their long-term goals and develop strategies to achieve them. It involves a facilitated session where members discuss the club's current state, desired future, and actionable steps to reach that vision. This process helps clubs develop a clear mission, revitalize member involvement, and create a roadmap for future success.

Previously this was known as "Strategic Planning". Rotarian Scott Hebert is the RD7080 Chair for Action Planning, and Rotarian Narciso Rodrigues is the RD7080 Chair for Club Visioning.

A NEW FORMAT AND A NEW PROCESS
Going forward, Scott and Narciso will be working together on both Action Planning and Club Visioning on the same day with individual clubs.

Instead of Clubs requesting a specific date, Clubs can book from a list of available dates below by emailing the Club Visioning & Action Planning Team.

1. VISIONING:
  • Purpose: To help clubs clarify their mission, vision, and long-term priorities.
  • Process: A facilitated session (often over sevearl hours) where club members brainstorm, discuss, and prioritize goals.
  • Outcomes: A clearer sense of the club's identity, purpose, and direction, as well as a foundational strategic plan that also helps in project evalutation and planning.
  • Key Elements: Involving a broad range of members (leaders, experienced, and newer members), facilitated by a trained Rotary District 7080 team, and focused on creating consensus.

2. ACTION PLANNING:
  • Purpose: To translate the vision into concrete steps and initiatives.
  • Process: After identifying key goals, the club develops specific action plans with timelines, responsibilities, and resource allocation.
  • Outcomes: A tangible roadmap for achieving the club's vision, with clear steps for implementation and evaluation.
  • Key Elements: Action plans are often built upon the foundation of the visioning session, focusing on achievable goals within a specific timeframe.

BENEFITS OF VISIONING AND ACTION PLANNING:
  • Increased Member Engagement: When members feel involved in shaping the club's future, they are more likely to be actively engaged.
  • Improved Club Effectiveness: A clear vision and well-defined action plans lead to more focused and impactful initiatives.
  • Enhanced Leadership Development: The process helps identify and develop future leaders within the club.
  • Strengthened Community Impact: A clear vision and action plan can lead to more effective service projects and community engagement.
