Family and Professional Life
Barry married Mary Jane in 1961, marking the start of a family that would grow to include four children - Barbara, Kathleen, Glen, and David - and eventually eight grandchildren. His entry into the dental business in 1965 and the establishment of his own business brokerage in 1982 defined his professional path. This venture, Tier Three Brokerage, involved appraising and selling dental practices until he sold the company in 2008, though he remained actively involved as Broker of Record.

Barry's engagement with the Rotary Club of Oakville Trafalgar (RCOT) started in 1989, a membership introduced by the late Bob Mitchell. His role in the club was notable, with his induction occurring just before the club welcomed its first female members.
His Rotary journey saw him attending his first of 14 International Conventions in 1995, an experience he shared with Mary Jane that had a profound impact on them. Barry's leadership within the Rotary community was further evidenced by his role as District Governor in 2000/2001, followed by positions such as membership chair, Foundation Chair, and District Polio Chair.
Barry and Mary Jane's international service included leading teams to Africa and India, involving over 200 individuals. Their efforts in global initiatives were recognized with the International Service Award for a Polio-Free World. Additionally, Barry received the Citation for Meritorious Service in 2002, and both he and Mary Jane were members of the Paul Harris Society and the bequest society.
