Some of the most impactful Rotary International projects begin with a simple conversation!
It was a privilege to join fellow #Rotarians in celebrating PDG Stephen Young and his spouse from the Rotary Club of #Swellendam, South Africa, and to learn more about the inspiring Swellendam Rotary EDC School Project.
What began as a chance conversation during the 2024 Rotary International Convention in Singapore evolved into action, collaboration, and ultimately a Rotary Global Grant project that is transforming lives through Basic Education and Literacy for children in Swellendam.
This is what Rotary Global Grants are all about - bringing together Rotary clubs across countries to pool expertise, resources, and funding in order to create sustainable, measurable, and long-lasting change in communities around the world.
My sincere appreciation to PDG Lesley Barmania for the invitation and to everyone who supported this meaningful initiative, including the Rotary Club of Meadowvale. It was also wonderful to share the evening with my family, celebrating the power of international friendship, service, and the reminder that sometimes "One Day" truly becomes "Day One."
