Commemorating 80th Anniversary of D-Day
To commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day, and to honour Shelburne Rotarians and all Canadians who served in WWII, Shelburne Rotary recently made a donation to the Juno Beach Centre.
With our donation, Shelburne Rotary received a flag that has flown over Juno Beach where Canadians landed on June 6, in the Battle of Normandy.
The Town of Shelburne flew the flag on June 6, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day. Shelburne Rotary donated the flag to the Shelburne Legion for safekeeping with the hope that it will be flown annually on June 6.
