In April, the Rotaract Club of Mississauga successfully completed their Easter Treat Box Fundraiser with all proceeds donated to the Mississauga Food Bank. In order to support and bring awareness to local businesses, the club curated Easter Treat Boxes filled with baked goods contributed by six small local bakeries.
Over a two-week period beginning March 8th, our members reached out to friends, family, coworkers and Rotarians to pre-order their Easter treats. Initially, it was estimated that each bag would generate $5 in profit. However, our team was able to cut costs, allowing us to donate approximately $8 per bag. To our club’s delight, we were able to sell 57 Easter bags, raising over $450 for the foodbank. Orders were fulfilled on Saturday April 3rd via contactless pick-up and delivery, just in time for Easter!
The six small local bakeries we supported were:
- Half a Dozen (Mississauga)
- Heather’s Bakery Café (Georgetown)
- Lazio Bakery & Deli (Mississauga)
- The Cookie Loop (Mississauga)
- Red Sugar Bakery (Brampton)
- La Casa Dolce (Mississauga)
The Rotaract Club of Mississauga would like to thank everyone who supported us during the Easter holiday and we are looking forward to more creative fundraising opportunities in the future!
